  29.   this archive is to let you know a little bit more about the fastest
  30.   growing file distribution network to date.

  33.   WHAT IS TDS NETWORK ?
  34.   ---------------------
  35.   TDS Network is a worldwide file distribution network for users,
  36.   Sysop of bulletin boards & BBS Door and Utility developers/authors.

  41.   The first aim of the network is to consolidate as many of the old 
  42.   and latest doors into a huge library for users to download.
  43.   This saves alot of "Door Hunting" and also unnecessary calling
  44.   to places where new updates of door(s) "might" not be found.

  46.   Our second aim is to assist BBS Door & Utility developers/authors in
  47.   the distribution of their software(s). Since our membership is so
  48.   extensive and our local & international hubs call daily to pick up
  49.   files, you are guaranteed an extensive distribution of the software
  50.   you write which will in-turn generate more registrations.

  67.   WHAT ARE OUR RULES.

  69.   1.   All archives will be distributed as is and will not be modified
  70.        or tempered with.

  72.   2.   Files which are NOT BBS Door or utility related will NOT BE
  73.        DISTRIBUTED.

  75.   3.   COPYRIGHTED / COMMERCIAL file(s) is/are not allowed and will be
  76.        deleted if submitted.

  79.   BBS DOOR & UTILITY DEVELOPERS/AUTHORS.

  81.   (Please refer to the file AUTHORS.LST for a list of participating
  82.   developers).

  84.   Software authors will be given access to our toll-free 1-800 BBS 
  85.   lines. Your doors are important to us and we are always looking for
  86.   the latest updates. Use our toll-free line to upload your software to
  87.   us. Usage of the toll-free line is FREE and you are under NO OBLIGATION
  88.   to give us any registration keys, codes etc. All we want is for you
  89.   to consider us as another avenue of further distributing your sofware.
  90.   You would wonder how we then can afford a toll free bbs line. Well,
  91.   the toll free phone number is EXCLUSIVE and is only released to
  92.   developers who have been VOICE VERIFIED by us. The line is not publicised
  93.   nor listed anywhere. After voice verification, we will then personally
  94.   create your account on the toll free node. You can then login and
  95.   upload your doors to us.

  97.   Downloading is not permitted on this node except for certain selected
  98.   files.

  101.   HOW TO APPLY FOR DOOR DEVELOPER MEMBERSHIP

  104. | To APPLY FOR DOOR DEVELOPER MEMBERSHIP status, please fill up the
  105. | form AUTHOR.APL and submit it to us via the methods, outlined in the
  106. | section WHERE AND HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR FILLED APPLICATION, which are 
  107. | listed near the end of this text.

  110. | our bbs and filling up script questionair #9 in our script section.

  117.   PURPOSE OF THE TOLL-FREE LINE
  118.   -----------------------------
  119.   The toll free line was setup for the sole purpose of getting door 
  120.   and utility authors to login and upload their software. This saves us
  121.   alot of LD calling, and also searching for new versions of software 
  122.   which have not been released yet. This method helps cut down unnecessary 
  123.   calling out but at the same time still ensures our members the latest
  124.   releases of doorware & utilities. It also gives bbs door & utility
  125.   developers an incentive to call in to upload their works. Usage of our
  126.   toll free line is FREE.

  129.   USERS & SYSOPS (both Internationally & locally)
  130.   -----------------------------------------------
  131.   Members have access to our huge bbs door & utility library. Both
  132.   sysops and users have the opportunity of picking up our files using
  133.   a variety of methods outlined below :

  135.   1.    ONLINE DOWNLOAD - Sysops may manually login using their regular
  136.         communication software, join our TDS Conference #194 and download
  137.         as much as possible. Members get over 150 minutes and unlimited
  138.         download bytes.
  139.  
  140.   2.    FIDONET TICK AREAS - Sysops who support the fidonet Tick file
  141.         software may wish to use this method of easy transfer. There 
  142.         are only 5 tick file areas unlike other networks which have over
  143.         20 areas which make finding doors confusing.

  159.         choose the files they need. This method reduces the chances
  160.         of getting any unwanted doors thus saving even more on the
  161.         phone bill.

  163.   4.    FILES ON DISK or TAPE - We also provide files on tape. Please
  164.         call us or download the latest TDS Network archive (TDSXXXX.
  165.         ZIP) for the latest information.

  168.   HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF OUR NETWORK

  170.   Our registration process is simply and fast. This ensures a fast
  171.   & timely reply.

  174.   ensure all fields in the form are completed or marked NA (Not 
  175.   applicable) where necessary.
